[QUOTE="thitrite, post: 12580055, member: 228473"] 15 African countries NGOs strongly condemn violations of HR in Tindouf camps NGOs call on UN and UNHCR to assume responsibility and identify inhabitants of the camps African NGOs and institutions are better than their Western counterparts in the defense of Saharawi peaceful demonstrators currently abused by Polisario militia in Tindouf camps. Met on February 11 in Douala, Cameroon's economic capital , on the initiative of the Research Group on parliamentarism and democracy in Africa ( GRPDA ), these NGOs and institutions from fifteen African countries unanimously condemned the violation rights of Saharawi civilians by Polisario militia. Working for peace, stability and good governance in Africa, these NGOs have called on the UN and the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR ) for an immediate end to these violations. In a document called "Declaration of Douala ", they call upon the international community to consider the plight of Sahrawis due to a "permanent repression" they undergo total impunity in these isolated camps around the world. "We appeal to the international community and all other stakeholders to inquire about the dramatic situation of human rights in the Tindouf camp , and awareness of the seriousness of the situation in the area, its impact on the prospects for peace , security and development of the entire region of Sahel-Saharan and North Africa " , say the signatories of the declaration. NGOs and African institutions also denounced the continued violations by the Polisario of fundamental rights , freedoms of expression and movement of refugees in Tindouf camps . Late severe human rights abuses in the camps , had dramatic consequences on people , victims of barbarism , including the assassination of two Sahrawis by the Algerian army and the arrest of dozens of protesters shouting against Polisario leaders . Faced with all these violations , international NGO dedicated to the defense of human rights observed a strange silence since the protests began in the Tindouf camps . An attitude that raises many questions.
