So in 1995 I got married to this Californian girl I met in New York and moved to California.
Northern California. I was happy. New York was bad for me. I KNEW TOO MUCH. ...
We took the train. The Honeymoon. We stopped in Chicago for a few days. Then Austin, Texas for
a couple days. A week or so in Santa Monica. And then finally we arrive. Berkeley. Northern California.

I kept it simple. Did not want to meet too many people. Been there done that .... Plus now
I am a married man. Responsibilities. You know.

Years later I meet Nabil a youngster from Tangiers and then Hamid from Casablanca. They
lived in Berkeley ....

One day they call me. "You wanna go for coffee?" Sure. It is a beautiful day. Where? "The City. Little Italy."

It was a beautiful day. We went to Little Italy. Hamid led the way.
He tells me I am taking you to this Cafe where the Moroccans hang out.

The Cafe was nice. Sure enough there were some Moroccans there.
Then Nabil tells me "You see that Cafe across the street?"
"What about it?" Nabil smiles and tells me that is where the Alkherians hang out.
So I say. "Wait. The Moroccans come from all over and sit in this coffee and the Karaghila come
from all over and sit in the other Cafe across the street". Why?

Memory Lane.

It felt really good to see Big Mike on the ring. I am 59 and he is 58.
And so when Mike was causing trouble late at night in Harlem on the East
side of Manhattan, I was doing my own thing on the Upper West Side
across Grand Central Park. Spanish Harlem. I would read about it the next day in the New York Post.
He was good to me. He made me some really good money .... I stopped watching after Mike. I was done.
I knew there will NEVER be another fighter like Mike. He Was One Of A Kind.
