Pour ceux qui ne le sauraient pas, dans une moindre mesure (puisque rien d'obligatoire) Bodhgaya est un peu la Mècque des bouddhistes. C'est sous l'arbre de la Bodhi encore présent presque sous sa forme originelle à Bodhgaya que le Bienheureux réalisa nibbana (nirvana).

Bien que l'attaque n'ait pas été revendiqué, il semblerait que des groupes liés à Al Quaida menacent les différents gouvernements bouddhistes ou assimilés (Inde) de menaces de représailles suite au génocide en Birmanie envers les Rohyngas. Espérons que quelque soit la cause, elle nattise pas la haine surtout en Inde ou les hindous sont solidaires des bouddhistes et encore moins en Birmanie.

According to news reports, 8 bomb explosions have taken place at the Mahabodhi temple in Bodh Gaya, Bihar. This is a key religious site for Buddhists as this where Lord Buddha is believed to have gained enlightenment.
CNN-IBN has reported that 8 explosions took place while one live bomb was recovered from the site. The blasts took place inside the temple complex. The initial reports suggest that crude bombs were used in the attack. The report also adds that 5 people are believed to have been injured and one of them is seriously injured.
PTI had reported that 2 monks were also injured.
The explosions have raised the question of whether this was a terror attack. While an NIA (National Investigative Agency) team is leaving for Bodh Gaya to gather forensic evidence, the government has not yet called it a terror attack.

RPN Singh, Ministry of State of the Home Ministry spoke to Times Now, and said that no statements could be made till the investigation was done. The DGP should have reached the spot by now, and we will investigate any possible lapses, he said. Till the investigations are over we would not like to make any statement. It does seem like a terror attack but we cannot give any details till the investigation is done. If there were any shortcomings in following up IB alerts, it will be looked into as a part of the investigation. No terrorist outfit has claimed responsibility yet.
