Beachgoers can usually expect a visit from a seagull or a spotting of a washed-up sea creature. What about a swarm of dragonflies?
That's exactly what visitors at Rhode Island's popular Misquamicut State Beach got this weekend when a flock of dragonflies suddenly flooded the beach.
In videos shared on social media, hundreds of dragonflies can be seen passing through the busy Westerly beach Saturday as onlookers react.
One beachgoer, Jennifer Serenson, captured a video in which one person can be heard calling the scene "apocalyptic."
