I spent a couple of years in Tangiers. Early eighties. I was young under 18. Had lots of fun ... I went to the American School of Tangiers and after school weather permitting, we used to go the beach with the ladies (Moroccan.Swedish, American, ....) Good times I tell you. We used take a case of beer and place it in the water. When the tide is high, we swim like fishies to get the beer for athe ladies.
PS: The cops were nice to us. They wave to us from far away while checking out the blondes ....
Never missed the train. I used to take the train from Marrakesh to Tangiers after midnight.
We get to Casablanca early in the morning. There we switch trains and we take the Casablanca-Tangiers train.
Loved that train. It had a bar. Just beer. Heineken. Stork ....
I is not like taking the train acroos America from the Atlantic tic to the Pacfific fic fic. From New York to the Golden State of California via the mountainous Pennsylvania, Chicago and the Great State of Texas.
But hey I still loved it.
It takes around 24 hours just to cross Texas. ....
