Oh I remember her from One Tree Hill, she played a model trying to make it in the music industry

I didn't know she was an actual singer  Really liked her song :) I'm gonna give her album a listen

THE SICK NOTE.

Dear Sir I write this note to you to tell you of my plight
For at the time of writing I am not a pretty sight
My body is all black and blue, my face a deathly grey
And I write this note to say why Paddy's not at work today.

Whilst working on the fourteenth floor, some bricks I had to clear
To throw them down from such a height was not a good idea
The foreman wasn't very pleased, the bloody awkward sod
He said I had to cart them down the ladders in my hod.

Now clearing all these bricks by hand, it was so very slow
So I hoisted up a barrel and secured the rope below
But in my haste to do the job, I was too blind to see
That a barrel full of building bricks was heavier than me.

And so when I untied the rope, the barrel fell like lead
And clinging tightly to the rope I started up instead
I shot up like a rocket till to my dismay I found
That half way up I met the bloody barrel coming down.

Well the barrel broke my shoulder, as to the ground it sped
And when I reached the top I banged the pulley with my head
I clung on tightly, numb with shock, from this almighty blow
And the barrel spilled out half the bricks, fourteen floors below.

Now when these bricks had fallen from the barrel to the floor
I then outweighed the barrel and so started down once more
Still clinging tightly to the rope, my body racked with pain
When half way down, I met the bloody barrel once again.

The force of this collision, half way up the office block
Caused multiple abrasions and a nasty state of shock
Still clinging tightly to the rope I fell towards the ground
And I landed on the broken bricks the barrel scattered round.

I lay there groaning on the ground I thought I'd passed the worst
But the barrel hit the pulley wheel, and then the bottom burst
A shower of bricks rained down on me, I hadn't got a hope
As I lay there bleeding on the ground, I let go the bloody rope.

The barrel then being heavier then started down once more
And landed right across me as I lay upon the floor
It broke three ribs, and my left arm, and I can only say
That I hope you'll understand why Paddy's not at work today.

I've posted this in memoriam 9/11 in another thread, but here it is where it belongs, in the Country thread.

One Last Time
Dusty Drake

When she picked up the telephone,
His voice came on the line.
She said: "This can't be happening,"
And tears fell from her eyes.

She said: "What am I supposed to do?
I can't handle losing you."
He said: "I just had to call to say goodbye,
One last time."

He said: "There are some things in this life,
That are out of our control.
Like who we fall in love with,
And when it's time to go."

She said: "What about the plans we had?"
He said: "This connection is getting bad.
Now come on baby, let me hear you smile,
One last time."

She started to apologize,
For all the things that she'd done wrong.
She said: "I would have loved you better,
If only I'd known."

He said: "You were the perfect wife:
Promise me you'll go on with your life."
She said: "The boys won't understand."
He said: "Tell 'em Daddy loves 'em and, be strong..."

* * * * *

He said: "Honey, I've gotta go."
She said: "Don't you dare hang up.
There's so many things I need to say:
I love you so much!"

It was almost like she felt him leave.
She cried out: "Can you still hear me?"
She fell down on the kitchen floor,
When the signal died...

As the pilot tried to pull out of the dive.
One last...

Mary Anne and Wanda were the best of friends
All though their high school days
Both members of the 4H Club
Both active in the F.F.A

After graduation Mary-Anne went out lookin’
for a bright new world
Wanda looked all around this town
and all she found was Earl

Well it wasn't two weeks
after she got married that
Wanda started gettiin’ abused
She put on dark glasses, long sleeve blouses
And make-up to cover a bruise

Well she finally got the nerve to file for divorce
She let the law take it from there
But Earl walked right through that restraining order
And put her in intensive care

Right away Mary Anne flew in from Atlanta
On a red eye midnight flight
She held Wanda’s hand as they
worked out a plan

And it didn't take ‘em long to decide
That Earl had to die

Good-bye Earl

Those black-eyed peas
They tasted alright to me Earl
You’re feelin’ weak
Why don’t you lay down
and sleep Earl
Ain’t it dark
Wrapped up in that tarp Earl

The cops came by to bring Earl in
They searched the house
high and low
Then they tipped thier hats
and said “thank you ladies
if you hear from him let us know”

Well the weeks went by and
Spring turned to Summer
And Summer faded into Fall
And it turns out he was a missing person
who nobody missed at all

So the girls bought some land
and a roadside stand
Out on Highway 109

They sell Tennessee ham
and strawberry jam
And they don't
lose any sleep at night ‘cause
Earl had to die

Good-bye Earl

We need a break
Lets go out to the lake Earl
We’ll pack a lunch
And stuff you in the trunk Earl
Well is that all right

Good Let’s go for a ride
Earl Hey

Artist: Lonnie Ratliff
Song: "My Name Is Earl"

I love country music I've always been a fan
But Martina and the Dixie Chicks have double crossed us men
And I suspect my better half believes the songs she hears
Since "Independence Day" I've lived my life in fear

I'd never touch that woman I only threatened to
But that bimbo is impressionable Lord knows what she might do
And thanks to those three Dixie Chicks I got one dangerous girl
The only thing I'm guilty of, my name is Earl

I used to like the Dixie Chicks til they messed up my wife
And now I'm hiding all my ammo and locking up the knives
I hope when I'm six feet under and the "Chicks" go number one
All that tainted money helps them live with what they've done

I'd never touch that woman I only threatened to
But that bimbo is impressionable Lord knows what she might do
And thanks to those three Dixie Chicks I got one dangerous girl ..... and
The only thing I'm guilty of, my name is Earl

Tag: The only thing I'm guilty of, my name is Earl

I don't know why my old pappy didn't name me Emily
or Martina, Natalie or Marty
Heck even Sue
Anything but Earl
That name has made me a target pappy
Hell hath no fury like a woman armed
Maybe that gun control ain't such a bad idea Charlton
If your name was Earl
Yeah, see my point
